The round was co-led by Sorenson Capital and Pear VC, with support from strategic angel investors and skilled nursing operators who deeply understand the day-to-day challenges SNFs face.

Meet the Founders
Flax was co-founded by repeat entrepreneurs Trent Hazy and David Kartchner. Trent previously built AI and automation products at Microsoft, bringing deep experience scaling enterprise-grade systems. David earned his PhD in AI for healthcare from Georgia Tech, where he focused on extracting insights from clinical documentation — the core challenge Flax is tackling.
